Stay back options and work permit in Singapore

In Singapore, the stay back option for international students after completing their post-graduation degree is up to 3 years. It also depends on the course and its duration. Students who want to study further in Singapore can apply for a visa afterward.

Students get the work permit easily for 1 year after completing a 1-year course. Similarly, for a complete 2 year-full-time course students can stay up to 3 years in Singapore. The same process is followed for a bachelor’s degree. 

Working rights on student visa

International Students in Singapore can work – 

  • Work part-time (up to 16 hours per week during semesters)
  • The age to work for students should be 14 years above.
  • Students should be enrolled in a full-time course in approved institutions. 
  • Students should have a student pass issued by the Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (ICA). 

Visa conditions

  • Students should have a legible passport valid at least for 3 months. 
  • Students are asked to submit their Singapore student Visa after completing their course. 
  • Students are required to apply for a ‘visit’ pass to extend their stay in the city for a year.
